Reflections on our first DLC open house

October 8, 2007

Today we went to the Open House at the Durham Literacy Center. We talked about how to better the program and the system. We talked about how to help the community and how we would help people to educate themselves through the literacy center. We talked about how to let the people know that there is help for them if they will accept, search for, and want help. It is a way out of your struggle because there is someone who cares about you. Help me, help me, help me! We have beautiful people that are willing to present their time to help you if you want to be helped. We have some of the best tutors that can help you if you would desire the help. We will appreciate you if you will take time out and contact someone through the literacy center. We are sure that you will be happy if you will make a start, so come down and be blessed of the Lord and the literacy center.

With love,

Emmett and Rebecca

Thanks so much for sharing your story Emmett! Every time I hear you speak, I am moved to tears. You are what makes the literacy center what it is.
